Art Deco American Weather Station

A perfect example of Art Deco design in the form of a desktop weather station. Designed by Mac Cowan and made for The Badger Mutual Fire Assurance of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, celebrating their 50th anniversary 1887 to 1937. This charming instrument has a barometer with the usual weather predictions plus, somewhat worryingly, the word ‘threatening’! Below this is a hygrometer with a very stylish and intricate deco pointer matching the red set hand and black pointer on the barometer. To the left is the refurbished thermometer.
The case is in black Bakelite with a broad radius to one side and fluted chrome panels to the opposite side and on the base.
A beautifully detailed period piece that will grace any room.
