A rare recording rain recorder, engraved on the dial as an Indicating & Recording Zero Setting Rain Gauge, circa 1950, set into a study metal case with a glass viewing panel. This instrument records rainfall on a weekly drum as well as on the associated dial which indicates up to 10” of rainfall. Upon reaching that level, the pen arm automatically drops to zero to continue recording. Some charts are available.
