This is a very stylish marine barometer supplied by Harrods Ltd, London. The traditional set-hand is replaced with a knob controlling the outer ring on the barometer face allowing the operator to align the red marker to the current reading then see where the pressure moves at the next observation. This mechanism was often used on marine instruments as salt water could penetrate into the movement through the set hand hole in the centre of the glass. This example has thick bevelled glass, a chrome outer bezel & highly polished mahogany outer case.
This fully working instrument would make a lovely gift.
Nice condition with pitting to chrome inner bezel commensurate with age.
