This is a lovely original oak cased barograph with a subsidiary barometer dial working in sequence with recording element. The instrument carries the Registration No 428606 for the dial device by Short & Mason in 1904, although this instrument is engraved by renowned manufacturers and retailers, C. W. Dixey & Son, 3, New Bond Street, London.
The barograph has thick bevelled glass to the lift-off lid and there is a chart drawer to the base.
A very nice working example of ingenious late Victorian engineering and would grace any home or office. As with all barographs, copies of operating instructions, 6 months' supply of charts and a fresh bottle of recording ink is included.
