WW2 Barograph by Chadburn’s, Liverpool.

WW2 presentation Barograph by Chadburn’s, Liverpool.

A traditional Mahogany barograph by the illustrious optical and marine suppliers, Chadburn’s Ltd., Castle Street, Liverpool. The movement is finished in a gold lacquer and is in good working condition. The lift off lid has deep bevelled glass on all four sides and the top and there is a neat chart drawer to the base. There is an interesting presentation plaque on the front of the hardwood base for the retirement of Mr J B Hutchison by his employers, Scott’s Engineering Co Ltd of Greenock and dated 31 March 1943. My impression is that this instrument was probably made somewhat earlier in the mid 1930s, and presented as ‘pre-owned’ due to wartime availability.

A selection of weekly charts, a fresh bottle of recording ink and copies of period operating instructions included.

367mm wide x 225mm high x 231mm deep.
