This is a well maintained fully working barograph supplied by the famous British armed services retailers, A & N. C.S. from their flagship store in Victoria Street, Westminster, London. The ivorine plaque shows the company was Limited (Ltd) therefore the instrument can be dated to the 1930s. The polished mahogany case with the all glass lift-off lid shows no sign of damage. The lacquered brass movement has a single central pillar arrangement which simplifies the linkages between the diaphragm stack and the pen arm. This may well have been designed to reduce hysteresis in the linkage. The glass ink bottle with its brass stopper looks to be original.
A selection of weekly charts will be included together with a fresh bottle of recording ink, red or blue, and a re-printed copy of a pamphlet by Negretti and Zambra describing operating instructions and the interpretation of various chart recordings.
