Elegant Edwardian Mahogany Barograph

This is an imposing barograph  by likely makers, Messrs J. Hicks, Hatton Garden, London. See extract from their 1913 trade catalogue.

There is an interesting chart record from Glynhir dated November 1928,   this would seem to be from Glynhir Mansion, Llandybie, West Wales.  The case in highly polished mahogany has radiused corners, matching ornate carved framework to the lift off-lid and deep bevelled glass all round. The two- compartment chart drawer has a hardwood base below the drawer (always a sign of qulity!). The style of the case is continued through to the substantial support feet. The fully operational aneroid movement and the weekly clock are all finished in the original lacquer.

This barograph will make a lovely gift for any special occasion and would grace any location, domestic or office, as a centrepiece.

A quantity of charts is included together with a fresh bottle of special blue or red recording ink and a reprinted pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd., describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
