This is an Edwardian barograph supplied by Benn Franks, Optician,Hull, Hanley. set in a substantial figured oak case with deep bevelled glass all round, The fully working lacquered movement and the seven day clock are fitted to a brass base. It comes with the original glass ink bottle and brass stopper. The two-compartment chart drawer has a fixed base below - a sign of Edwardian quality!
A quantity of weekly charts together with a fresh bottle of recording ink are included and also a reprinted period pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
