This is a lovely gilt pocket barometer set into a magnificent Gothic cast metal surround with a rolled base making it a perfect desktop centrepiece. Dolland of London were highly respected and prolific manufacturers of scientific instruments from the mid-victorian era. This barometer is engraved with the usual weather predictions and  with a scale from 25 to 31 inches plus a perimeter altitude scale from 0 to 8000 feet. All the words and numbers are perfectly crisp and clear. The bezel has deeply beveled glass. 
150mm high x 92mm wide x 48mm deep. The barometer face is nominally 48mm diameter.
