This is a totally refurbished and very large aneroid barometer by well known Birmingham retailers, Bailey of Bennetts Hill, circa 1890. Reputably the instrument was originally displayed in a municipal building. The imposing hardwood case is finished in a matt ebony and an overall size of 440mm diameter (300mm across the glass). The huge aneroid mechanism and the curved thermometer are in excellent working condition. There is a slight deflection to the right hand hardwood frame but this does not affect the overall appearance  of this lovely instrument.
