Imposing Negretti and Zambra Barograph

This imposing barograph, is in lovely condition.

Set in a polished mahogany case the style of the instrument is the last produced by Negretti & Zambra, circa 1985.Slightly larger than the standard barograph, this fully working example has bevelled glass all round to the lift-off lid, a full width chart drawer to the base and is complete with the original glass ink bottle and dipper. The model number engraved on the brass baseplate is 4134.

 Having closed the last of their showrooms in New Bond Street, London in the 1970s they relocated sales to their manufacturing facility in Aylesbury, This facilty eventually shut down in the late 1980s when the weather instrument division was sold to British Rototherm in South Wales .

This barograph comes with the original sales and catalogue describing '...it is extremely attractive and of high quality, enhancing almost any setting. Becuase of this your barograph will be a centre of interest and attraction when used for display in public places or as a presentation gift in the home"

It was also sold with their patented pocket forecaster as well as their own type-written operating instructions, both of which are included.

A selection of 6 months' supply of actual Negretti weekly charts included together a fresh bottle of ink and a reprint of their 1950s pamphlet describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.

 

A separate blank brass presentation plaque can be provided if required.
