This is a beautiful aneroid wall barometer in a polished ebonised finish by Newton & Co., circa 1890. The clear silvered dial is engraved with ''Makers to the Government, 3 Fleet Street, Temple Bar, London". 270mm diameter overall, 160mm diameter across the deep bevelled glass, There is a mercury filled curved thermometer to the lower half of the dial. The brass bezel is fixed through from the back of the instrument, providing an unhindered view of the front. 
A lovely working instrument which has been very well looked after and would make a lovely presentation gift.
