This is an early Edwardian barograph circa 1920 by the renowned manufacturers and suppliers, Ross of London. The instrument has a polished mahogany case fitted with deep bevelled glass all round and there is a two-compartment drawer below and underneath that is a fixed base- always a sign of quality! The clock and the barograph mechanism are all in good working condition, There is a mercury filled thermometer, reading in Centigrade and Fahrenheit fitted neatly between the clock drum and diaphragm stack. Some signs of minor wear to the case, inevetable for its 100 years but does not detract from the overall appearance of this imposing barograph.
A quantity of weekly charts together with a fresh bottle of recording ink are included and also a reprinted period pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.
