This is a modern Marine barograph by Barigo of Germany. The damper system attached to the pen arm linkage stabilizes the instrument on board ship against interference from the pitch & roll plus engine vibration. There are two options of threaded rod and wingnut for securing the barograph at the base on to a shelf. The instrument is housed in a polished hardwood case, glass on four sides with a useful carry handle on top. The quartz clock has been replaced by a mechanical weekly movement and the drum uses standard size charts, available in millibars or inches with Sunday or Monday start. These quality instruments sell new for well over £2000.
A quantity of weekly charts are included together with a bottle of recording ink for re-charging the felt nib.
