This is an unusal barograph in a contemporary style. It is badged by Negretti and Zambra  from their New Bond Street shop in Central London. I vividly recall seeing one of these on display when I visited their store in 1975, not long before it closed. I remember thinking at the time how futuristic it looked and entirely out of character with all the other barographs on show in traditional style - polished hardwood cases, bevelled glass and chart draws, etc, - this new one was quite a revelation and I finally acquired this one some years later.

On the underside of this surprisingly heavy istrument is a plaque by Pastorelli and Rapkin, Green Lanes, London who I guess were the makers and simply omitted to remove the label when it was sold on to Negretti and Zambra.  There is also a low serial number, 00062.

I have to report the movement is very sesitive as I have observed recently small changes during persistant high pressure over the UK. The weekly clock works fine.

A supply of charts in millibars will be included together with a fresh bottle of recording ink (red or blue) and a re-printed pamphlet describing operating instructions and interpretation of various chart recordings.

276mm wide x 140mm deep x 160mm high.
