This Casella barograph in polished mahogany case was clearly designed to create a more updated version to the traditional style. The diaphragm stack is in matt black, matching the clock drum and lid. The clock itself is a quartz movement which works well and is located under the base with gears connected to the recording drum. The lift-off lid has bevelled glass all round and there is a chart drawer to the base.
The instrument is in excellent condition and has been well maintained from new - there is an original sales receipt from Casella dated 1986. The previous owner kept meticulous records, noting the weather conditions on the chart for each day.
