A late victorian wall barograph by Redier of Paris. Exceptionally rare and in over 65 years it's the only one I've ever seen with a clock. Patented by George Redier and business partner in 1891, it has a different recording mechanism than traditional styles and wad designed to eliminate the friction of the pen on the chart. This is the same instrument described in Collin's book, see copies of black and white pictures, '...this barograph has a mahogany glazed case, 6 inches x. 4.75 inches x 10.25 inches high, with the front hinging down: the front (glass) cover also has mounted within it a an enamelled-face clock which is a very rare feature.
A true collectors instrument and worthy as the centrepiece of any private collection or a museum. A selection of charts, green or red, supplied with a fresh bottle of recording ink.
