Turnbull & Co. Edinburgh. Barograph

This is a lovely period barograph set in a polished mahogany case, retailed and signed by the respected and well established retailers, Turnbull & Co., 80, Princes Street, Edinburgh. Circa 1925, this Edwardian barograph has an-all glass hinged lid and securing hook with an integral support stay - ideal for those who might be uneasy when lifting up and off the heavy bevelled glass lid. The brass movement and has an attractive gold effect lacquer in excellent condition. The matching ink well and glass dipper bottle look to be original. There is a two compartment chart drawer to the base which contains an original A4 instruction sheet (amended in red ink!) with the Turnbull & Co address details on the back. There is a fixed panel below the drawer. The weekly clock is the reliable 1902 patent with the visible escapement. A quantity of recording charts are included together with a fresh bottle of ink and a reprinted pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra describing operating instructions and how to interpret chart recordings.
