You can see from the monthly records of pressure and temperature here in Somerset that it's been a fairly typical UK August! There were four well-defined low pressure systems passing over the west country plus some fairly unstable weather systems in between. The maximum screen temperature here scraped in to the lower 70’s F (21’C) on a few days and the maximum, on one day only,10th August, reached 77’F (25’C). The daily temperature range mostly hovered between 60 & 70’F (15.6 & 21.1’C) and the absolute minimum was 52’F on the 24th. On a brighter note, the beginning of September is looking much brighter!
